We’re glad you are exploring admission to Calvin Christian School! The admissions process begins with the submission of an application for admission, application fee, and a pastor reference form. You can call or email to request an admissions packet, including the required forms, or you can download them here:
- Edina Campus Application for Admission
- Blaine Campus Application for Admission
- High School Application for Admission
- Pastor Reference Form
If you are transferring your child in from another school, please request a transfer of records at this point in the process. We can provide a transfer of records request form or submit the form on your behalf if needed.
The next step is the parent interview, an approximately one-hour conversation prospective parents have with two volunteers from our interviewing team. The purpose of the interview is to explore the parent’s (or guardian’s) faith commitment and desire for Christian education as it is practiced at Calvin Christian. The interview team makes a recommendation to the CCS board of directors regarding admission. We generally begin scheduling interviews in the winter for the following school year.
Students transferring into Calvin Christian as high schoolers will also have an informal entrance interview with the high school principal.
Families who are admitted before mid-March will be asked to preregister to hold a place for their child(ren). Preregistration includes payment of a $250 per family fee, which is a prepayment toward your financial commitment for the coming year.
Admitted students entering kindergarten will be scheduled for a developmental readiness assessment beginning in February. Registered kindergartners will have the opportunity to get a taste of kindergarten—parents, to attend an informational meeting—at Kindergarten Roundup in early May.
Registration takes place in mid-April for returning families and for new families who have completed the admissions process. Registration is arranged individually with families admitted after the scheduled registration dates. Registration includes making a financial commitment and a first payment on that commitment, as well as determining a payment plan.
